5 Steps To Follow For Healthy Weight Loss

By Jon Allo

There is no such thing as the perfect diet and healthy weight loss is all about losing weight safely and keeping it off permanently. A healthy diet plan does not mean severely limiting the nutrition you need, dropping calorie intake below a healthy level or exercising to the point of exhaustion. Here are 5 useful steps to follow for healthy weight loss.

1. Take A Look At Your Lifestyle.

You must first look at your lifestyle habits to achieve healthy weight loss. An simple way to do this is to start a food diary for one week and list everything you eat. Don’t forget that you do have to be honest with yourself! After 7 days take a look at your food choices and see if you’re eating too many unhealthy things.

2. Are You Eating Too Much Processed Food?

From the list that you made, you may discover that you’re eating a lot of proceeded foods, that is, foods that come in a box, can, bag or carton. These foods are frequently altered to prolong shelf life and have little or nutritional value. If you are are too many processed items, add a piece of fresh fruit to your breakfast and make sure you eat at least one vegetable serving with your dinner.

3. What Are You Drinking?

Consuming excessive amounts of carbonated drinks is one of the biggest reasons for gaining weight today. The best option for a healthy weight loss programme is to drink lots of water which you can flavour with lemon if you like. Avoid drinking high-calorie sports drinks or fruit juices. Monitor your alcohol intake to, as it is very high in calories.

4. What Are Your Portion Sizes?

If you can’t recognize any specific unhealthy items, then check out your portion sizes. Maybe you are eating in a healthy way but are just eating too many calories. If this is the case, an simple way to cut down is to eat from a smaller plate. It will help you keep portion sizes under control and trick your mind into thinking you are eating much more than you actually are.

5. What Exercise Are You Doing?

A sedentary lifestyle means that your body is unable to burn off enough calories each day. A healthy weight loss plan needs to include some exercise because being more active will make a big impact to your weight. You don’t have to go to the gym everyday. Simple things like parking a little further from work, getting off public transport one stop early or taking the stairs and not the elevator can make all the difference.

Losing weight and getting fit does not have to be difficult. For the best nutritional tips, the most proven exercise programs, fitness motivation and the whole recipe for fat loss with safe, natural and proven methods please click here.

Improve Your Memory – Keep Your Mind And Body Fit

Copyright © 2014 Mak Martin

The human brain is a surprising organ. It doesn’t matter if you are awake or asleep, dreaming. Learning from past experience or planning for the future, enjoying or suffering, everything happens in our heads first.

But nearly half the population of industrial nations believe that their memories are deteriorating. How do you feel about this issue? Do you still remember what you did last Monday? Do you remember what you ate for lunch last Sunday? Do you remember all the birthrates of everyone in your family?

If you can improve your memory, thinking ability as well as your faculties of perception and your communication skills, how much is that worth to you?

Did you know that your brain consists of about 100 thousand million nerve cells, and that literally hundreds of thousands of electrical impulses are racing back and forth between them every millisecond? More importantly, did you know that there is absolutely no reason why your mental “fitness” should diminish as you grow older, as everyone else assumes? In recent years, the fields of biology, medicine and psychology have produced an outpouring of new research on the brain. Scientists have found a direct correlation between a healthy, fit body and an alert brain. The increased oxygen intake and blood flow has many benefits to the cells in our brain.

In fact studies in Finland shows that adults over the age of 50 who walk an average of 2 miles everyday or at least 10 miles per week perform 50% better in memory tests than those who did not exercise. Brain scans of volunteers show increased blood flow to areas of the brain that directly impacts short term and long term memory. Further tests on cognitive skills of elderly volunteers also show marked improvement. Psychologist also surmised that individuals who exercise also suffer far less from depression and generally have a healthy outlook in the life, besides improved brain function and great memory. They generally smile more and have healthier social habits like starting a conversation with strangers or forming better friendships.. Scientists conclude that sustained and moderate walking is indeed a elixir of life, good for the body and good for the brain.

More surprisingly, the same principle of fitness applies for your brain as for your body; if you don’t use your brain, it’s going to get rusty. So do use it often and challenge it every single day of your life. Your brain and your memory will surely remain in good shape and peak condition if you keep it productive.

Diets for Quick Weight Loss

By Jon Allo

Firstly, diets for quick weight loss are not diets that you should stick to for a long period of time. Generally they are not well balanced diets and are only designed to be used for no more than at week at the most. The majority of these fad diets severely limit the amount of calories you consume or they work by you eating the same type of food every day.

A popular quick weight loss diet is the Cabbage Soup Diet. This diet, also been known as the “Russian Peasant Diet” and the “Military Cabbage Soup Diet”, has been known to help people lose up to 10 lbs if they stick to it for one week. Obviously, if you don’t like cabbage their are other fat burning soup recipes.

The 7 Day Plan.

The plan works by eating unrestricted amounts of low-calorie cabbage soup over the course of 7 days. The cabbage soup, which you cook yourself at home, accounts for your main food for the week. A selection of other foods are permitted, all of which are intended to help you lose weight fast.

A sample week would work something like this. On the first day you can have all the cabbage soup and fruit you want. On day 2 you can add vegetables into your soup and have a baked potato with butter for dinner. Once again on the third day you can eat all the soup, fruit and vegetables you want. On day 4, more soup plus bananas and skimmed milk to drink. On day 5, in addition to your soup, you can eat between 10 -20 ounces of lean beef or baked, skinless chicken and fresh tomatoes. Day 6 is more lean beef and vegetables plus at least one bowl of cabbage soup. Finally, on day 7 you have at least one bowl of soup with brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices and vegetables.

Use This Diet Carefully.

Your system and your body will not have sufficient energy to maintain a exercise routine. You have to be careful not to overexert yourself when trying any kind of diet for quick weight loss. It’s important to drink plenty of water to keep your system hydrated and it will also help to keep your hunger under control.

Diets for quick weight loss can be effective but their downside is that they are not sustainable and restrict your food options for a number of days. If you can maintain this type of eating schedule then it can be a good solution for losing weight quickly for a special event like a wedding or holiday.

Best Way To Lose Belly Fat Right Now

By Jon Allo

The best way to lose belly fat is to think about all the things you can eat as opposed to thinking about all the things that you can’t eat. Keep in mind that not eating will not help you to lose fat or help your body. The best weight loss plans include a wide choice healthy and balanced foods that let you enjoy the occasional treats.

One of the problems when you’re trying to lose belly fat is that people look at it as a prison sentence. But you need to take into consideration what you’re actually trying to do. Your objective is to have a healthier lifestyle and if all you do is think about all the things you cannot eat, you won’t be able to stick with a new eating plan.

Eating The Best Foods For Losing Belly Fat.

To start with, what do you need to add to your belly fat diet? By including healthy and nutritious foods, you will actually crave less of the non-healthy foods.

Some the best foods to eat to lose belly fat include fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grain foods, fibre sources such as flaxseeds and beans, lean meats and drinking plenty of water. There are a whole selection of ‘negative calorie’ foods that you can include into your diet such as asparagus, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, spinach and tomatoes.

Foods with a high water content have fewer calories also. As an example, soups made with chicken or beef broth or tomato-based soups all consist of lots of water, but not many calories.

Does this mean that you can never stray from your diet? No, it’s fine to have a bit of chocolate pudding occasionally. You only need to adapt your calorie intake for the day. You don’t have to exercise for hours to make up for one little treat.

Focus On The Positives.

How do you really feel about losing your belly fat? Make a note of the things you can add to your meals and all the things what will make your exercise schedule more enjoyable. You’ll quickly see that this helps the way you feel about transforming your lifestyle.

The best way to lose belly fat is to have the right mindset from the start. It is an important element of making sure you that eat a healthy diet and take care of your body with regular exercise. Is There Really A Revolution of Consciousness Going On?

By Paul A Philips

It has been said that we are in the midst of a large-scale global awakening. That many people are waking up left, right and centre to the realization there is a grand deception taking place perpetrated by elite corporate/banker ruling oligarchs: That more and more people are realizing the government is not acting in our best interest but is in power to serve these ruling oligarchs with plans that can only serve to enslave humanity.

Is there really a revolution of conscious going on acting as a catalyst that’s so desperately needed to bring about significant planetary changes away from the current destructive insanity?

First it must be remembered that this is not about a revolution as in rioting on the streets, seizing of property… etc. but creating the transformation needed to bring about liberty and the pursuit of happiness, as instilled hundreds of years ago by American forefathers, requiring governance by an honest government that serves to protect and promote truth, justice, liberty and equality.

-In short a government for the people by THE PEOPLE.

So, to answer the question is there really a revolution of conscious going on?’ let’s review the evidence.

1. Increasing alternative media popularity

Yes, the alternative media realm is gaining more and more of the lion’s share, presenting news, views and opinions that mainstream media would not be brave enough to publish. No longer are alternative media websites regarded merely as material for a few paranoid conspiracy theory kooks… People in increasing numbers are waking up to the realization that many of the so-called conspiracy theories are conspiracy facts: thus turning myth into reality by changing points of view, while discovering the propagandist lies and cover-ups by the mainstream media…

2. Alternative news related public speakers find increasing audiences

In line with the above I’ve heard it said from a number of alternative media related public speakers that their audiences are increasing in numbers. For example, alternative health author and speaker Phillip Day said that not only are his audiences increasing on his tours but are also questioning more, showing their increasing interest and alertness…

3. Decreasing ratings in mainstream media

In recent years there has been a continuing slump in mainstream media ratings. This includes some of the biggest names such as CNN, MSNBC and Fox News. For example, a recent study by Pew Research found that 3 mainstream media mega-corporations had their prime-time viewers’ fall in ratings by 11 percent. According to Michael Snyder in his report the slump is caused by American people increasingly losing faith in the establishment-controlled manipulated mainstream media with their political and corporate self-interests…

Consequentially, people are turning to alternative media sources for more truthful, honest reporting. This is quite significant when you realize that the entire mainstream media is owned and controlled by only 6 corporations!

4. Public opinion prevented a war on Syria

We saw waves of protest and a groundswell of public opinion which had prevented Obama’s plans to order military intervention in Syria. British Prime Minister Cameron had also failed to get parliamentary backing for the strikes having been outvoted by MP’s. The call for military intervention was centred on the allegation that Syria had not handed over all their chemical weapon of mass destruction… now where had we heard all that before?!

5. There is a growing awareness of political corruption

More and more are getting the realization that political corruption is endemic and politicians are increasingly out-of-touch with the people their supposed to serve. More than ever people are seeing right through the lies and ulterior motives: Politicians continue to fail to maintain peace, are major culprits in preventing health’s biggest problems such heart disease, cancer and dementia getting solved… They aid and abet harmful technologies to us and the environment like GMO, fracking and geo-engineering while having a significant hand in the growing rift between the rich and poor…

-All this because of self-interest, corrupt governmental practices and monopolistic greed resulting in the ongoing planetary devastation, suffering and financial destitution of hundreds of millions of people.

To summarize

To answer the question ‘is there really a revolution of consciousness going on?’ the answer has to be yes. Will the threshold number of aware people be enough to influence the necessary planetary changes needed to take us away from the doom and gloom..? Well, that indeed remains to be seen.

Slimming Down With A Vegetarian Weight Loss Diet Plan

By Jon Allo

A healthy diet plan needs to be something that you can stick with and enjoy. If you don’t like meat or fish you’ll need a diet that will provide all the nutrients your body requires to stay healthy. A vegetarian weight loss diet plan is one of the healthiest options when you want to lose weight as you’ll avoid high-calorie foods such as red meat. Let’s take a look at the benefits of an effective vegetarian weight loss diet plan.

As you probably know, vegetarians are people who do not eat meat or fish. Some vegetarians, known as a pescetarians, do eat fish and some avoid all animals products including cheese and eggs all together, and follow a vegan diet.

Vegetarian Weight Loss Diet Plan.

Vegetarian diets are known to lower the risk of heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, and cancer. A vegetarian diet is generally healthier as it avoids meat which is the main source of saturated fat. If you avoid meat you’ll often eat more polyunsaturated fat, and less fat overall.

How To Get Started On A Vegetarian Weight Loss Diet.

If you don’t want to stop eating meat entirely, a good start to a vegetarian diet is first cut down on the amount of meat you eat. You could choose to eat meat twice per week and stick to a vegetarian diet the rest of the time. Even if you have the same size portions, a vegetarian diet generally contains fewer calories so the weight will start to drop off.

A veggie diet for weight loss should include a number of important foods. Lentils contain a lot of nutrients, are an excellent source of protein and contain almost no fat. Dark green leafy vegetables like broccoli, spinach and parsley contain fewer calories and reduce the levels of fat in our body. Soy products like soya beans, tofu, kidney beans, baked beans, chickpeas and black beans increase metabolic rate, reduce appetite and are great addition to a vegetarian weight loss diet plan.

When people contemplate starting a vegetarian weight loss diet plan, they can sometimes have concerns that they will not get enough protein. But this will not be a problem. The majority of non-vegetarians eat too much protein anyway and it’s often the unhealthy sorts too. If you eat plenty of legumes, beans and soy products you’ll have the protein you need.

Losing weight and getting fit does not have to be difficult. For the best nutritional tips, the most proven exercise programs, fitness motivation and the whole recipe for fat loss with safe, natural and proven methods please click here.

Will Science Really Explore The Nature Of Consciousness?

By Paul A Philips

Science has long held the firm belief that conscious is an illusion. Dogmatically, without any proof whatsoever, they want you to believe that your conscious experiences related to self-awareness and ‘mind’ are nothing more than illusions produced by brain chemistry.

However, age-old scientific paradigms like this are slowly crumbling. More and more scientists are now willing to embrace the idea that our existences cannot be explained merely by reducing us to the level of biochemical robots. Consciousness is something that coexists with our brains. Sooner or later I predict that scientists will somehow find suitable methods to open wide the doors leading to discovery and learn more about consciousness.

One such scientist opening up those doors with a keen interest in consciousness research is Dr Jill Balte Taylor a Harvard-trained brain scientist. In 1996 she had a massive stroke in the left side of her brain and experienced some very strange things.

At the time of the stroke she stopped working out on her exercise bike realizing that something was not right. Fully consciously unaware her experiences got stranger and stranger… With a pulsating pain behind the left eye her perceptions changed: A dark shimmer rose from the floor blurring the edges behind. Everything went silent including noises from outside the room. Light looked different. She held out her hand and described it as something weird looking like a claw not belonging to her as the throbbing pain behind the left eye continued…

Waking up after 10 minutes sleep, in spite of the continuing disturbing circumstances she had lost the ability to register fear. That’s because the sensory parts of her brain related to this as with the other losses in sensing had shut down due to a massive stroke. In spite of the unrelenting pain the weirdness continued; going in and out of a Nirvana-like state of bliss losing her sense of separation as if she was one with everything: In so many words she said the experience made her feel free like a genie out of a bottle…

Desperately trying to call for help she had great difficulty in reading a colleague’s phone card. Having lost the ability to decipher the writing and numbers all she could see was indeterminate colours looking like pixels. Having recognised the lab’s logo she managed to decipher her colleague’s number on the card by matching the squiggles (produced by the pixels) to those on her phone. Thus, she was then able to call the number.

As she began telling the colleague about the stroke all she could hear from her voice was gibberish. The response at the other end of the line was also unintelligible gibberish to her. However, she could detect from his voice tone that the colleague would get help.

Help was soon given.

After carefully operating on Jill to remove a golf ball sized blood clot interfering with the language processing part of her brain it then took some 8 years for her to fully recover from the affects of the stroke.

What can we get from this?

During the stroke she lacked the left-brain’s ability needed to process the raw sensory data from the world about her and translate it into a coherent reality. Therefore, our physical bodies are the interface between the consciousness and the world about us

Now, truly grateful to be alive Jill continues sharing her experiences while encouraging everyone to look into the nature of consciousness with its related practices, insights and experiences. In her talks she makes the distinction between the brain’s left and right hemispheres. She describes concentrating our attention on the left brain as something to choose to become a solid individual and separated from the ‘flow of us all…’ She goes on to say choosing the right brain can take us to the place where we all exist describing it as the universe life-force energy powered by the 50 trillion plus cells that make up our body.

Like others who have had similar experiences she makes the point that by understanding the nature of conscious and who we really are is one, as realized by accessing our inner-peace circuitry, there will be more peace in the world.

The choice, she says, is up to us all.

Top 6 Questions People Have Before they Begin to think about Personal Development for Themselves

For most people, personal growth or personal development is not only a process in itself, but getting to the point of realizing that it may be something they want to incorporate into their lives is also a process. Most people don’t wake up one day out of the blue and decide that they want to focus on their own personal growth. There are usually questions and recurring situations they one continues to struggle with that will be the catalyst in starting them off in that direction. So what could those questions be?

1) How to stop the feelings of guilt and fear of the loss of those you love

This one is very common as most people are brought up do deal with situations through guilt or fear. However, because it is not our normal status quo way of being, over time, we begin to show the effects of carrying the guilt and fear through the deterioration of our health, wealth, or relationships.

2) How to silence the thoughts that carry you over self destruction

All of our thoughts were created and reinforced through our perceptions of experiences that we went through. Many of these thoughts are based on false perceptions, so therefor the thoughts will only reinforce these false perceptions and cause us to recreate the same types of experiences over and over again. False thoughts can only lead to destruction, which is why it is important to replace them with constructive thoughts based on the truth.

3) How do I find my passion and direction to live love no matter what

Many of us become so overwhelmed with false perceptions of ourselves, that over time, we begin to lose ourselves and what brings us joy in this world. Those of us that are lucky enough to realize that we are going through the motions and not living our lives through our love, have time to rekindle that passion and truly make a difference in our lives and those around us.

4) How do I overcome adversities and animosities without allowing them to devour me?

Live brings us challenges and experiences that we sometimes feel are not desirable. So how can we move through these experiences and see the silver lining in each situation so we can continue to move forward and not get stuck and mired in disappointments and doubts that can creep up.

5) How do I find and maintain lasting happiness?

To most of us, this is very important. many of us are not automatically happy in our lives. Most of us are pessimistic and see the wrong in things instead of the right. Seeing the wrong in things does not allow us to be happy and empower us into really creating the life we love.

6) How do I allow myself to live the real me?

If you have ever made a decision based on the approval of someone else in spite of what you wanted, you are not living the real you. If you have ever felt you had to hide a part of yourself because of what someone else may think about you, you are not living the real you. Finding the courage to live your life is one that many of us lack.

These are some of the most popular questions we ask ourselves that we want the answers to, and the desire to have the answers to these questions is the first step in our personal development journey.
